About the photographer - Sherwood Burton
Sherwood began life as a photographer at age twelve, when in 1950 his father gave him his first camera: a black plastic Baby Brownie. It became a delight to him and his enthusiasm grew as he realized he could satisfy his intense desire to communicate what he saw with his heart through the lens of this camera and to share the experience with others.
Sherwood loves to take time to stop, look around and record what he sees with his camera, rather like a scribe, though not with pen and parchment, and let the pictures speak for themselves..
Over the years Sherwood has worked in various photographic fields from dental surgery, aerial views, studio portraiture, travel, high school events to weddings, bar mitzvahs, receptions, flower and nature photography.
Sherwood has a unique and personal way of capturing and communicating the wonder of life. His love of creation, but especially flowers, has grown and deepened through his relationship with God whose awesome handiwork is manifest so clearly in nature; Sherwood calls it "Creator Technology".
